Sunday against the New York Jets, it only took the first three drives for Devlin "Duck" Hodges to throw the first two interceptions of the game. Everyone knew it was time for a change, enter QB Mason Rudolph. Making his first appearance since he was benched four weeks ago for Hodges, he came out looking better than Hodges did, going 14/20, for 129 yards and a touchdown to rookie WR, Diontae Johnson. Unfortunately, after getting tackled in the backfield by the Jets, Rudolph was yet again hurt, this time a shoulder injury. This new setback will keep him sidelined for the next couple of weeks.
If Duck Hodges, backed up by former 1st round pick Paxton Lynch, can't defeat the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, (who is sitting multiple starters including Mark Ingram, Marshal Yanda, and Lamar Jackson), then their season will more than likely be over. If the Steelers are to make it into the playoffs and beyond, it's going to have to be with an undrafted rookie, or a 1st round pick who could be considered a "bust"at the quarterback position.
