Steelers' Big Names Set To Play In 2nd Annual Celebrity Softball Game

author image

On Saturday, July 16, members of the Pittsburgh Steelers will take the field (a baseball field to be precise), for the second annual Three Rivers Celebrity Softball Game. The game will be played at Wild Things Park, home to the Washington Wild Things, hosted by former Pitt standout, Dorin Dickerson. Proceeds from this event go towards the Heyward House: The Cameron Heyward Foundation, supporting Pittsburgh area youth.

The teams participating in this event will be Team Burgh and Team World. Team Burgh’s roster will be comprised of celebrities, athletes, and entertainers from Pittsburgh, while Team World’s celebrities, athletes and entertainers will include stars from all over the world. To get the party going, we’ll highlight a few stars from each team’s roster that you may not be as familiar with, starting with Team Burgh.

Team Burgh

Dorin Dickerson

The host of this event, Dickerson, the former All-American from the University of Pittsburgh, played both wide receiver and tight end during his football career. He played in the NFL for five seasons, but more recently, Dickerson has worked with 93.7 The Fan, but he won’t remain a spectator in the stands. You can look forward to him making plays on the field with the rest of Team Burgh on Saturday night.

Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D

A Punxsutawney native, Baker got her dental medicine degree from the University of Pittsburgh. When she’s not busy being a dentist, she can be found staying busy as a professional wrestler with All Elite Wrestling. She’s no stranger to the Steelers as she had both Najee Harris and Pat Freiermuth as guests in 2021 during her match in Pittsburgh. Baker brings a lot of energy to her performance in the ring, so one can only imagine the energy in the outfield with her in the lineup.

Tone Digs

A co-host on the Pat McAfee Show, Digs is known for his high level of producing content for various forms of media. You can also expect him to produce at a high level on the field of play as well, which will be on display this weekend.

This is a small sample of the overall star power that will be suiting up for Team Burgh. The rest of the roster is rounded out by names that are a bit more recognizable to Pittsburgh sports fans. There are names like Pittsburgh Penguins goalie, Casey DeSmith, as well as some current Pittsburgh Steelers that include, but are not limited to, Mitch Trubisky, Kenny Pickett, and Alex Highsmith.

Team World has some of the biggest celebrities from across the globe on their team as well. As we did with Team Burgh, we want to get you better acquainted with a few members representing Team World.

Team World

Darnell “Speedy” Artis

Artis played professional basketball overseas in Brazil before joining the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters in 2019. Known for getting up and down the basketball court in a hurry, you can anticipate Artis to live up to his nickname, rounding the bases on the diamond.

Chelsea Green

Green is an accomplished professional wrestler, currently signed with Impact Wrestling. When she’s not in the ring, Green also works as a stuntwoman and a model. Having a triple threat caliber player like Green on their squad, Team World will be tough to contend with.

Kenny Moore II

Playing cornerback for the Indianapolis Colts, Moore is a game changer on defense. Making his first Pro Bowl appearance in 2021 demonstrates his ability to shut down his opponents. He will look to lock down Team Burgh in Saturday evening’s game.

Team World has even more big names to offer. Philadelphia Eagles running back, Miles Sanders, former Steelers linebacker, Bud Dupree, and NBA analyst, Jalen Rose are among the list of names to cap off an impressive collection of celebrities.

The game’s slated start time is 7:05 p.m. Show up between 2-5 p.m. for food and beverages provided by the Terrible Tailgate, the official tailgate of Steeler Nation. Cost for the tailgate is $20 per person. It’s going to be a great game supporting a great cause, and we hope to see yinz there!
