It is no secret that the Tennessee Titans are the main culprit in causing pain to the NFL due to COVID-19. This is due to the Titans lack of ability to get the virus under control within their organization.
The Titans currently have 21 positive tests throughout their organization, 11 players and 10 staff, announcing two additional positive tests this morning. Likely due in large part to the Titans, the NFL sent out a memo a few days ago to all NFL teams. This was tweeted out October 5th by Dan Graziano of ESPN.
Within the memo it states that a forfeit is possible if there are "Protocol violations that result in virus spread...". This has led some to believe that if the Titans are unable to play this week vs. the Buffalo Bills, that they may be forced to forfeit.
If this is the case, which it is far from a sure thing, then the Pittsburgh Steelers absolutely deserve a forfeit victory. They would also deserve their schedule to return to normal and have their originally scheduled bye week (Week 8) returned.
No matter what the Steelers deserve, what happens with the Titans is still very much up in the air. It is also no guarantee the Steelers will be given the same outcome as the Bills.
At this point, all the Steelers can do is continue on with their task of focusing on the Philadelphia Eagles, taking it week by week, and continuing on the quest for number seven.
