The Pittsburgh Steelers' punter Pressley Harvin III is in his second season with the team. This is the first time that many Steelers players have gotten to experience training camp at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe and that includes Harvin III. He was drafted in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft. During his rookie campaign in 2021, Harvin III averaged 42.6 yards per punt, and he's looking to improve that number in the upcoming 2022 season by focusing on being more consistent.

Harvin III is learning to keep fighting after facing some very trying times in his personal life last year. Harvin III lost his father and grandmother in the same year near the end of the season. The loss caused him to miss the last two regular-season games against the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cleveland Browns.
“I was in a place I’d never been before in my life. Been through a lot before, but it taught me to just continue to keep fighting for the next day,” Harvin said Monday via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “Everything’s gonna get better with time.“That’s really been the biggest thing this offseason I’ve been doing is giving myself the time to heal, getting used to my new normal and continue to keep doing what I can do best," Harvin III said.
Those that have lost loved ones know just how hard it can be to navigate your work life while trying to navigate something as heavy as grief can be.

Harvin III is searching to improve his consistency in his 2nd year as the Steelers' punter to help the team flip the field position.
“I didn't think I had the best day last week, but I just told myself my numbers are still higher than what I thought they were," Harvin continued. "I'm still getting better every single day. I know I'm not gonna have a perfect day every single day, but if I can continue to get my B and C ball to be closer to my A ball and how that looks on a consistent level, I can just continue to put the team in good position.”
Harvin III arrived at training camp in Latrobe with a new outlook on life.
“I told myself if I could get through last season, I can honestly accomplish and get through anything in life,” Harvin stated. “I've gone through my hard times now, and I just tell myself, why not be on the other side? Why can't I be the one to help someone else if they're going through the same thing or similar things? Why can't I be the one that they can look up to?"“Good days are gonna be good. Bad days are gonna be bad. But the best thing you can do is just keep fighting through it," Harvin III said.

The Steelers' punter continues to put up a fight, facing the toughest adversity any person can face in life. He may just be a punter, but his punting is vital to the Steelers' success in 2022. Life can be brutal at times and we face things that we don't really understand. With that, Harvin III is just trying to navigate his way through his 'new normal.'
