Get To Know Steelers Long Snapper Christian Kuntz

One of the most thankless jobs in the NFL is that of the long snapper. Currently, Christian Kuntz holds that position for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The team had Kuntz mic'ed up during OTA's and it was pretty cool to see how he interacts with his teammates and what it is like to be a long snapper in the NFL. The Duquesne University graduate seems to be a ball of energy who is a great guy to have around.

Kuntz started out by commenting on how it felt to be mic'ed up for the practice:

"I'm dead serious, I feel like I'm on MTV Cribs, but like the Pittsburgh addition."

He also admitted to his family bring curious about a day in the life for him as an NFL player:

"My family and friends are wondering what the hell I do all day," he said.

Steelers punter, Pressley Harvin III could be heard on the mic joking about Kuntz's role on the team.

"Man the life of a long snapper is complex," joked Harvin.

Kuntz laughed and responded to the second-year punter.

"Welcome to work!"

One of the best parts that the mic caught was an encounter that Kuntz had with safety, Karl Joseph regarding a Pittsburgh staple, Primanti Brothers' sandwich shop.

"Karl, you ever have a Primanti sandwich? That's the good Pittsburgh stuff." He continued. "But it is fire. Put some hot sauce on it, on that sandwich with fries and coleslaw. They're different kind of fries, why wouldn't you put fries on the sandwich?"

Joseph acknowledged that he thought the sandwich was a bit overhyped and Kuntz let him know that he isn't living keeping Primanti Bros out of his diet.

It is evident throughout the video that Kuntz likes to eat. He went on to remark that he even puts his McDonald's French fries on sandwiches when he goes the fast food route.

A yinzer food connoisseur, the long snapper also loves Beto's pizza.

He can also be seen and heard interacting with Cameron Sutton and even Defensive Player of the Year, T.J. Watt. Kuntz snapped to Sutton and the defensive back botched the hold on a potential field goal. Watt jumped in and if his career drastically changes as an edge rusher, the Steelers star player may still have a job as a long snapper. He was right on target snapping to a holder.
