The Pittsburgh Steelers are transitioning into their new era and right now it seems like QB Mitch Trubisky is going to get first crack at the QB1 spot this season. He'll work to fill the big shoes of "Big" Ben Roethlisberger! A lot of people are intrigued by the Trubisky's potential, especially becoming part of a supportive franchise like the Steelers.
Trubisky didn't get much help at all during his time with the Chicago Bears, but he looks to rebound with the Steelers in 2022. He could completely change the narrative of his career if all goes well this season!

On Good Morning Football on NFL Network this week, the show did a "Blind Take Test," in which the cast takes turns reading takes and backing them up without looking at them prior to the segment.
Former NFL cornerback, Darius Butler got a chance to defend the Steelers and Trubisky during his portion of the segment.
"Mitch Trubisky is a dark horse MVP candidate""Of course, why wouldn't he be? The Steel City, I don't even know what the stadium is going to be named. Big Ben's out of there. I mean, he's going to live up to being the number one pick. All of the Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson. Blah, blah, blah. Mitch Trubisky steps up, Mike Tomlin, he never loses, never has a losing season. He's going to put him in a great position. He's going to keep the rookie on the bench. MVP is next, it's only right!"
Look, I know the group was probably being sarcastic, but think about it. This is the best position Trubisky has been in in his entire career. He was able to take a year off competing for a starting role while learning under Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen last season.

The Steelers are going to do everything they can to ensure that the quarterback will be successful in 2022. Never mind that the team spent there 2022 first round pick on QB Kenny Pickett, it would be beneficial for Pickett to sit a year to learn and develop his NFL game a little further. If Trubisky is winning games, you have to keep him out there! It's getting clearer and clearer by the day, barring anything crazy to unfold when the team opens training camp on July 26th, that Trubisky will be the Steelers QB1 to start the season.
Steelers DL Cam Heyward reiterated the point that I just made above on his own show, Thursday.
“I think it starts with Mitch,” Heyward said via Not Just Football. “I think the thing that we have to remember about Mitch is, he’s coming from a situation where they didn’t really give him anything. And he still made it to the playoffs. Mitch does a lot of things right. I think we have a better team around him, and we’re going to support him. Right now, he’s our No. 1.”

Some of you may be laughing now, but let's wait until the season starts, Trubisky could surprise a lot of us, even some doubters within Steeler Nation.
