Steelers Offensive Line Coach Drawing Interest from Oregon

The Pittsburgh Steelers didn't renew the contract of offensive line coach Shaun Sarrett following the 2020 season. They decided to promote his assistant Adrian Klemm to the role, looking for major improvement.

The return hasn't exactly shown up on the field. Klemm and the returning offensive linemen were very vocal about a culture change, and getting more physical. It just hasn't happened. Ben Roethlisberger has taken hits all season long, and the running lanes have been scarce for Najee Harris.

Now, reports Wednesday morning from ESPN claim they Klemm is the front runner to join the University of Oregon as their offensive line coach. He is originally from California.

It's a move that can't come until the end of the season, but it's an interesting idea that Klemm would want to leave the pros for college.

Should Klemm leave town, that would open the offensive line coach position again for the third time in four years.

It's hard to judge Klemm on this seasons results because of the talent level he's working with. This isn't the same line that had a pedigree of mostly first and second round picks. It's a collaboration of middle round rookies with one declining veteran thrown in.

If only the Steelers could luck into Mike Munchak again. They haven't been the same since he left town for Denver.
