Earlier this week Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ulysees Gilbert III was sidelined from practice wearing a boot on his foot. This comes on the heels of Gilbert having a very strong training camp. Injuries had derailed previous seasons for Gilbert who consistently had dealt with a back injury.

Gilbert was drafted by the Steelers in the sixth round out of Akron. He finishes his Steelers career with only 25 tackles.
In a corresponding move the team claimed outside linebacker Hamilcar Rashed off waivers from the New York Jets. Rashed was an undrafted free agent signee of the Jets from Oregon State last season. He spent the entire 2021 season on the Jets practice squad.

Rashed was listed as a defensive end for the Jets, but hes listed at 6-2 251 pounds and should translate to an outside linebacker in the Steelers 3-4.
