The Pittsburgh Steelers closed out the last of their first week of practice in Latrobe on Saturday. The team gets the day off on Sunday, which leaves ample time for everyone to let us know who they think could come out on top of this Steelers' quarterback competition.
Mitch Trubisky, Mason Rudolph, and Kenny Pickett are battling it out during training camp and the preseason to determine who will be under center for the black and gold come Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The "hometown hero," Pickett continues to get QB3 reps at this time, but don't worry Steelers fans, the reps are going to be there for everyone to get a chance to prove themselves!
"Reps are gonna come," Pittsburgh head coach, Mike Tomlin said of Pickett via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's, Brian Batko. "Not only for him [Pickett], but for everyone. We're at the very early stages of this. Everyone's gonna get an opportunity to show their capabilities, for sure."
Expect the reps to be divvied out accordingly as this thrilling competition heats up even further! Offensive Coordinator Matt Canada has also weighed in on the competition and how the quarterbacks are looking currently.

“So, Mason’s getting the second reps right now, almost equal maybe slightly less than Mitch," Canada stated in an interview on PM Team W/Poni & Mueller on Friday. "He has been given a very fair shot to this point. Mason has played very well at times. He’s got a great shot at it.”
Could Rudolph, the guy that has been labeled as the "odd man out," overtake this quarterback competition as we inch closer to start of the season?
In a recent interview with NFL.com, the Steelers' former offensive lineman and current color analyst, Craig Wolfley let us know that this outcome is certainly possible.
NFL reporter, Chris Rose brought up Canada's comments that are mentioned above and asked Wolfley if that was true.
"I look at these quarterbacks and from the get go, I've always included Mason Rudolph as a serious contender," Wolfley said in the interview. " Mason has looked terrific! There's a lot of people that seemed to have want [have him] written him off and go straight to either Mitch Trubisky or Kenny Pickett. Well, all three are doing very well. Kenny Pickett has got some of the growing pains of a young quarterback going out, but that's okay, that's fine, that's how you learn. Mitch Trubisky looks like the guy that's capable of throwing the ball and moving. And of course, Mason Rudolph, like I said, he's just been slinging that thing, I mean tight, tight windows."

This seems to be a very serious three-way quarterback competition, no matter how hard that can be to give out reps. The guys that have been catching the passes from these quarterbacks have had some high praise for Rudolph's accuracy during the first week of training camp. Wide receiver Chase Claypool expressed how impressive Rudolph has been in the first week, via ESPN’s Brooke Pryor.
“All the receivers say he’s [Rudolph] one of the most accurate quarterbacks. It’s crazy how accurate he is. He doesn’t get enough praise and attention. He’s just as in the running as each of those guys.”
