Steelers Receiver Diontae Johnson Added To Painful Week 5 Injury Report; Banged Up Secondary Gets Minimal Good News

The Pittsburgh Steelers have fallen to 1-3 on the season after three consecutive losses since beating Cincinnati week 1. The offense has been horrendous, and the Defense hasn't been able to make the key stops when they've needed to. That includes blowing a 10-point lead late in the 4th quarter at home last Sunday. As if TJ Watt being out wasn't enough, now it seems likely they could be missing a few members of their secondary in Buffalo.

It's already been reported that starting cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon will miss his second week in a row, but more concerning is the fact that the rest of the entire starting secondary is hurt. Safeties Terrell Edmunds, and Minkah Fitzpatrick, along with cornerbacks Levi Wallace and Cam Sutton are all dealing with injuries. Edmunds left Sunday's loss with a concussion after taking a helmet to helmet hit. Fitzpatrick was hobbled by a hamstring injury late in the game against the Jets but only missed a few plays. Sutton and Wallace also have hamstring/groin injury issues.

On Wednesday Edmunds, Fitzpatrick, and Sutton all sat out of practice. Wallace was limited yesterday. But a little bit of hope has risen on Thursday as all of the other three were able to get on the field in a limited capacity. Of the four Edmunds will have the hardest road to playing on Sunday as he remains in concussion protocol.
