The Pittsburgh Steelers practice reports are always good indicators of where a player is at ahead of the upcoming game. After missing the last few games with a hamstring injury, starting cornerback, Ahkello Witherspoon seems to be on track to return this weekend against the Philadelphia Eagles. His presence will be greatly welcomed, as the team has had to use a plethora of guys to fill in at cornerback.

Witherspoon hasn't played since Week 3 against the Cleveland Browns. On the contrary, Levi Wallace's status for the weekend is greatly in doubt as he missed his second consecutive day of practice. Wallace injured his shoulder in the team's Week 7 loss to the Miami Dolphins, his third different injury suffered this season. He's also dealt with ankle and wrist injuries, as well as a concussion in the first two months.
Staying in the cornerback room, Josh Jackson was a limited participant in Thursday's practice after not participating at all on Wednesday. He's played over the past few weeks for the Steelers, as he's now dealing with a groin injury. Larry Ogunjobi's status isn't too promising either, as he missed practice once again with an ailing knee injury. Mike DeFabo of The Athletic provided a snapshot of the team's injury report:
Mixed news in the Steelers secondary. CB Akhello Witherspoon was a full participant today as he gets closer to a return. But Levi Wallace remains out.

Star defensive lineman, Cam Heyward got his typical day off, as he sat out of Thursday's practice. Steven Sims' hamstring seems to be mostly healed, as he practiced fully after being limited on Wednesday. After impressing in the return game in the team's Week 6 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Sims missed last week's game.

Pat Freiermuth (ankle) and Montravius Adams (hamstring) were full participants as well on Thursday. In essence, Ogunjobi and Wallace seem to be the only guys in doubt to play this weekend, barring any setbacks.
TJ Watt is someone else to watch, as he returned to practice on Wednesday, but remains on the IR. While he'll likely not return until after the Steelers' Week 9 bye week, no one should put it past him in trying to return to action this weekend.
