Ahead of the November 1st deadline, reports are coming in that the Pittsburgh Steelers are trading third-year wide receiver, Chase Claypool to the Chicago Bears for a 2023 second round pick.
BREAKING: The Bears are trading for Steelers WR Chase Claypool, per source.
— Field Yates (@FieldYates) November 1, 2022
Claypool, 24, was under contract with Pittsburgh through next season and had 11 total touchdowns as a rookie in 2020. Chicago is in desperate need of receiver help and Claypool should fit the mold as their likely new top target.
Over the last two seasons, Claypool has struggled to match his rookie production and maybe a change for both he and the organization was due. He has just 32 receptions on the year for 311 yards, 1 receiving touchdown (and 1 passing touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles this past Sunday).

Claypool has been a hot topic in the Steel City since he first arrived from Notre Dame, for both good and bad reasons. His consistency on the field, along with his maturity, has been an ongoing discussion.
More reports continue to pile in as the trade will feature the Bears' original second round pick, and not the pick held by the Baltimore Ravens. If this season continues to pan out the way it currently is, that's good news for Pittsburgh as far as draft positioning.
We wish Chase the best of luck in Chicago!
