The Steelers have brought back one of their 2019 draft choices after releasing him following training camp.
Linebacker Sutton Smith has been signed to the practice squad filling the spot vacated by LB Robert Spillane who was promoted to the active roster on Tuesday.
Smith was drafted in the sixth round out of Northern Illinois where he registered 30 sacks in three seasons. Smith missed most of the preseason with nagging injuries and finished with two tackles and 0.5 sacks.
Smith was signed to the Jaguars practice squad two weeks ago before coming back to Pittsburgh.
