Tuesday, Pittsburgh Steelers All-Pro defensive tackle and team captain, Cam Heyward joined The Mina Kimes Show featuring Lenny and spoke about head coach Mike Tomlin, Los Angeles Rams' star DT, Aaron Donald, the evolution of the NFL, and much more.
What really caught our attention was how Heyward also opened up about a time when he 'was ready to fight' former Steelers Pro Bowl safety, Ryan Clark.
We know that this isn't the first time Clark has had an issue with a teammate. Kimes specifically asked Heyward if he could tell her something about Clark that Steeler Nation may not have already known...
"Oh, that I was ready to fight Ryan Clark one day?" Heyward continued. "I don't know how it started, and he could tell you. It's not like it's a secret or anything. But, there was a day, I think it was like, 2013, and I wasn't starting at the beginning of the season, and he called me a 'bust.' And I was ready to swing on him right then and there. Yeah, we were about to fight right then and there. Yeah, you can talk to Ryan about that. But then it was like a couple weeks later, and we had just lost in London, so we had a long plane ride home. And this is the game where AP [Adrian Peterson] ran through us. And I remember IT [Ike Taylor] had an angle on him, and all you see is AP just keep going right past him. You're like, 'damn.' But we got back on that plane, and all I remember is Ryan Clark coming up to me, and he goes, 'Bro, so why you not starting?' And I was like, 'Why do you think? I've been waiting to start!"

Clark joined the black and gold in 2006 and played in Pittsburgh through 2013, while also having stints with the New York Giants (2002-2003), and Washington Redskins (now Commanders) from 2004-2005, and again in 2014. Heyward was drafted in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft (31st overall), and was able to play with Clark for a few seasons in the Steel City.

Brothers fight and getting underneath the skin of a teammate is nothing out of the ordinary. And things between both Heyward and Clark seem to be more than fine nowadays. I'm sure Heyward would be the first to tell you though, that if he were starting sooner in his career, less plays like the one Peterson made in London would've happened if Heyward were on the field.
