Coming off of his first Pro Bowl season, kicker Chris Boswell has been placed on a second-round tender by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Boswell is a restricted free agent who has the ability to entertain offers from other NFL teams.
If Boswell and the Steelers are unable to come to a long-term deal, the 4th year veteran will make $2.9 million for the 2018 NFL season per the tender. If the Steelers end up losing Boswell to a better offer from another team, they would receive a second-round pick as compensation if they decide not to match the offer.
Boswell made 35/38 field-goal attempts this past season with a career-best 92.1%. The Steelers would like to sign Boswell to a long-term contract and hope not to lose Boswell to free agency.
