In a game that was way closer than anyone in Steeler Nation would've liked, the Pittsburgh Steelers were able to escape from Arlington, TX with a victory over the Dallas Cowboys -- remaining the only undefeated team in the NFL at 8-0! With that win however came quite the scare to the knee of Steelers quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger. Roethlisberger took to the media postgame, addressed the win, his knee, and much more.
"I'm just really proud of the way the guys fought." Roethlisberger continued. "We didn't do what we wanted to do today... but we found a way to win."
When asked about the team's "slow starts" as of late, Roethlisberger took the high road (as Steeler Nation has been very critical of the offensive play-calling):
"I just need to play better... I'll take the blame for that."
What really stood out was a comment Roethlisberger made about Steeler Nation. Something that should stick, if it hasn't already.
"It's the NFL. There are no easy games. We're the Pittsburgh Steelers, we know everyone is coming for us. If you didn't know who -- and I'm not trying to take any shots at anybody -- if you didn't know who 'America's Team' was, you should've seen the stands and all of the Terrible Towels. Dallas may be 'America's Team,' but we're the 'World's Team.' We've got fans everywhere and they're the best in the world."
As for any concern about the knee, Roethlisberger was clear. "No, I'll be fine."
