The Pittsburgh Steelers haven't been in the Super Bowl in 12 years now. That's an awfully long stretch for a prestigious organization like the black and gold. Quite frankly, they've been embarrassed in their past few playoff meetings against the Cleveland Browns and Kansas City Chiefs.

TJ Watt has already established himself as one of the best players in team history. Now six years into his career, Watt has yet to be on a team that makes a playoff run. In fact, Watt has yet to win a playoff game in his professional career, losing all three times that they have made it. Obviously that's not the standard that fans expect of a franchise like the Steelers. Watt appeared on The Pat McAfee Show in Arizona on Thursday and had this to say:
"I wanna win. I wanna do whatever it takes to win. I feel like we have a really good team here," Watt said to McAfee. "We have good young talent. The time is now for us and I feel like we can put it together. Cam Heyward is still the big head in the house."
Watt made sure to get a little joke in there at the end on veteran defensive lineman, Cam Heyward. The two have been doing interviews in Arizona this week. Of course, the big game takes place in Glendale on Sunday with the Philadelphia Eagles facing the Chiefs. Heyward is the leader of the team, virtually the last guy of the early-2010's teams. Watt feels as if this team has the right pieces to make a run, led by the stars in himself, Heyward, and Minkah Fitzpatrick on defense.

Furthermore, Watt is confident that Kenny Pickett is the guy for Pittsburgh, referring specifically to his "moxie." All in all though, Watt sounds hungry to finally win, and his brother JJ is finally apart of Steeler kingdom as well. With his retirement coming recently, JJ will be a Steelers fan, given that Derek and TJ both reside with the black and gold. After an injury-plagued 2022 campaign, TJ will be hungry to earn his second Defensive Player of the Year Award, and more, in 2023.
How close do you think this team is to making a playoff run? How much longer do you think it will be before the black and gold get back to the Super Bowl? What improvements does general manager, Omar Khan need to make this off-season? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
