It was another year in which Pittsburgh Steelers fans had to watch the Super Bowl without the black and gold participating in the big game. This year, the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs took the field for SB LVII, another contest that went down to the wire. It officially marked 12 years since the Steelers last appeared in the Super Bowl, when they lost to Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.

Co-hosts Kevin Adams and Barstool Sports' Jersey Jerry recently discussed their dinner with Steelers quarterback, Kenny Pickett. Their podcast, Steel Here, featured quite the story regarding the black and gold's young signal-caller. According to Adams, Jersey Jerry asked Pickett if he would be attending this year's big game in Arizona, as he was already going to be present for Radio Row. This is what Pickett had to say in response:

"Nah, f*** that. The only time I'm going to that game is when we play in it," Pickett supposedly said to Adams and Jerry at dinner.

Now that is a comment that will get Steelers fans riled up. Adams admitted feeling the same way when Pickett responded with that comment at the dinner table. It's a mindset that fans came to love this past year, which happened to be Pickett's rookie season. Teammates and coaches praised his mentality and leadership from the moment that training camp started, an uncanny poise for a player still new to the NFL.

Recently, the 24-year-old told Trevor Sikkema of Pro Football Focus that his goal for 2023 is to simply win. He doesn't care about any personal awards or statistics, but rather to simply win for the city of Pittsburgh. This is great and all, but all that matters to the fans is if he does go out there and do it. This past season, Pickett led the team to a 7-5 record in 12 starts as a rookie.

That didn't come without any hurdles, including his problem with turning the ball over in his first few starts. Pickett was able to clean that up in the final few months, and he'll be expected to take a step forward in 2023. If he does, this team has a legitimate shot at getting back to the postseason and hopefully making some noise. Until then, fans should be hyped up about these recent comments that he has made.

How long will it be before the team does get back to the Super Bowl? Will Pickett be the guy to lead the team back to the big game? What are your expectations for him in his second season? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
