The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the most dominant franchises in the NFL. Over their years in existence, the organization has managed to win six Super Bowls. This is tied with the New England Patriots for the most in the league's history. During these six championships, they were led by only two quarterbacks. Terry Bradshaw and Ben Roethlisberger were the signal-callers in charge for these victories. They both ended their careers as two of the best quarterbacks of all time.

Steelers franchise QB's Terry Bradshaw and Ben Roethlisberger will go down as two of the best to ever play the game of football.

Steelers Fans Have Roethlisberger To Thank For Two Super Bowls

Roethlisberger was the Steelers guy for 18 years before retiring after 2021 season. This allowed them to draft Kenny Pickett who is believed to be the next face of the franchise. During Roethlisberger's time in Pittsburgh, he won two of the Steelers Super Bowls, was NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, a six-time Pro Bowler and led the league in passing twice.

Although he was able to win huge games for the Steelers, nothing will compete with the Super Bowls. His first was Super Bowl was XL against the Seattle Seahawks. It happened on February 5, 2006, which was Roethlisberger's second season in the league. The game itself was almost too perfect for the Steelers. Their Hall of Fame running back, Jerome Bettis was able to ride off into the sunset after this victory. Head Coach Bill Cowher was finally able to secure a ring and all of this was led by a young Roethlisberger.

His second appearance came in Super Bowl XLIII against the Arizona Cardinals. The game was played on February 1, 2009. The game is considered to be one of the greatest Super Bowls of all time. It had everything from James Harrison returning an interception to the famous Santonio Holmes toe-tap catch. It was full of excitement and made the Steelers the first-ever team to have six rings.

The Steelers are now at a point where they have the assets to go and win a seventh Super Bowl. With a young explosive offense and elite defense, they now have all the tools to be a top team in the league. The leader of this team is outside linebacker T.J. Watt. He recently was on Roethlisberger's podcast Footbahlin. While on there he asked Roethlisberger what it was like when you win a Super Bowl.

"It's unbelievable. Especially here in Pittsburgh, there are people everywhere, people hanging out of buildings, it is just one of the best feelings to have the confetti come down. It is almost surreal." Roethlisberger then said "At the beginning you think, we just put in months of work, and then it's over. It kicks in when you're with the guys at the hotel and you had a chance to sink it in."

After an impressive offseason, a Super Bowl may come a lot sooner than people expect. The veteran additions of Patrick Peterson and Isaac Seumalo add leadership to a young team. The 2023 draft brings a whole new look to the team as well. Reinforcements on the offensive line with Broderick Jones and Darnell Washington give Pickett much-needed protection. Rookies Cory Trice Jr. and Joey Porter Jr. along with Peterson will make the cornerback room a lot better than what it was in 2022.

Pickett has a lot riding on his shoulders for this season. Expectations are that he will take the same leap that Roethlisberger did in his second year and one can only hope that it will end in a Super Bowl victory. If he can play the same way that he did down the stretch, he could easily lead this team to a seventh ring.
