Steelers Legend Bill Cowher Doesn't Want To Hear Anything About Pat McAfee's Incredible Accomplishments

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a long and storied history. One of the more impressive feats that the franchise has accomplished is only having three head coaches since 1969. Chuck Noll (1969-1991), Bill Cowher (1992-2006) and Mike Tomlin (2007-present) have all been victorious in a Super Bowl at least once and the organization is tied with the New England Patriots for the most in NFL history. It is one of the more underrated runs in the league's history and Tomlin doesn't appear to be going anywhere any time soon. The favorite out of the three, however, may be Cowher, who remains in the news as an analyst for CBS.

Since retiring from coaching, Cowher has been a familiar face that appears on The NFL Today each Sunday during the NFL season. It's always nice to hear from the legendary coach outside of the TV studio and he joined the popular The Pat McAfee Show on Thursday to talk about his time in Pittsburgh. He didn't disappoint, as expected.

Pat McAfee was an NFL punter for the Indianapolis Colts for eight years before an abrupt retirement to take on a career in media. At the time, it was a head-scratching decision and many wondered why he was leaving professional football to work for Barstool Sports. He did it anyway and his post-football career was just getting started. He was with Barstool for less than two years after an apparent falling out.

He went on to start his production of The Pat McAfee Show and signed a massive four-year, $120 million deal with FanDuel. Most recently, he left that contract and will begin appearing on ESPN for the start of the 2023 NFL season. Overall, he has made a significant amount more as a media personality than he did throughout his playing career.

Steelers Legend Finds His Way To An Iron City Beer Can

McAfee and Cowher touched on a number of things during the Hall of Fame coach's time on the show, but the highlight might have been when the famous Pittsburgh brewing company, Iron City, came into the conversation. McAfee is all too familiar with the beer as his hometown is in Plum, PA, just outside of the city. He played college football at the West Virginia University.

Cowher revealed to the crew that he has found his way onto a special edition of Iron City beer cans. The former Steelers Super Bowl-winning leader is extremely proud of it.

"I got my face on the name of Iron City now. That's one of the greatest achievements I've made. I made the cover of an Iron City beer."

McAfee seemed shocked and impressed at the same time. That's when Cowher pulled the ultimate 'big dog' move and told the show's host that he doesn't care about anything he has done throughout his career until he experiences the same thing.

"Hey Pat, you've done a lot of great things, but until you get your face on the cover of an Iron City beer, don't tell me about what you've accomplished."

It was all in good fun, but hilarious when Cowher called out McAfee live on his own show.

The popular version of the beer is the light one, but Cowher was proud of the fact that he landed on the can of an old fashioned, legitimate I.C.

"It's not even an I.C. Light. It's a true I.C."

Cowher was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame back in 2020. It's an incredible accomplishment that every coach and player dreams of, but to him, his partnership with Iron City is even better.

"Hall of Fame is good. This is great."

The Steelers were lucky to have Cowher on the sidelines for so many years. He is a great guy off the field and was a heck of a coach on it. McAfee better get working to land on an Iron City can or Cowher will always have one up on him.
