The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of only two organizations to have six Lombardi Trophies within their facility. The New England Patriots can thank Tom Brady for theirs, but the franchise from the Steel City has been consistent dating back to the 1970s, a decade in which the team won four Super Bowls. Fans have been spoiled, which has led to frustration with a recent lack of playoff wins. The 2016 season was the last time that the Steelers had some luck in the postseason and that has led to patience running thin, especially with Head Coach Mike Tomlin.

Another year passed in 2023 without a playoff victory and Steelers General Manager Omar Khan recently spoke with the media in Indianapolis at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine. He sent a clear message about where he stands when it comes to winning championships. Although he just became the head of the front office in 2022, Khan has been a part of the organization for a long time. It's a group effort and he knows he, along with everyone else, has to step up to be more competitive.
He referenced the Super Bowl and the simple fact that he wasn't present during the big game. It takes a village to get there, and the cap wizard known as Khan acknowledged that everyone can improve within the Steelers' building.
"That's not where we want to be. So, we have to be better. Everybody's got to be better, including me," Khan said. "Our goal is for someone to be watching us in the Super Bowl."
Taking accountability is important when someone is in a position of power. Khan certainly did that, but he knows that it's not only up to him. There's no doubt that Tomlin and his staff need to do better too.

Steelers' Main Issue Is Directly Related To Quarterback Position
It has been proven, especially in the 21st century, that organizations need a top-tier quarterback to win a Super Bowl, or multiple. Pittsburgh had that with Ben Roethlisberger, but still couldn't manage to reach the big game since the 2010 season. Kenny Pickett got the short-end of the stick with Matt Canada for nearly the entirety of his NFL career to start, but that isn't the reason to not bring in competition in 2024.
Every area of both the offensive and defensive sides could use upgrades, but it's nearly impossible to put together a championship roster without a stud at the signal-caller position. The hope is that Khan's recent comments about wanting to watch the Super Bowl in-house leads him to make the necessary moves to bring a prominent and formidable voice in the huddle.
