The Pittsburgh Steelers are rumored to be keeping an eye on West Virginia's standout center, Zach Frazier, as the draft season heats up. With the Steelers looking to improve their offensive line, Frazier is one that many hope falls to the Steelers 20th overall pick or possibly to their pick in the second round. On the last day of interviews at the 2024 NFL Combine, Frazier was asked about his recovery from his latest injury and how he thinks it will affect his draft stock.

Steelers' Prospect West Virginia Center Zach Frazier Ahead Of The 2024 NFL Draft
After suffering a broken fibula towards the end of his college season, Frazier is still in recovery, but is pleased with his progress. After discussions with his doctors, Frazier should be ready to go for organized team activities this offseason after the draft with which ever team selects him. Frazier stated he is excited and looking forward to show his progress with his recovery. Frazier was late for his last interview with media at the combine due to getting more medical checks from other teams.
"I got an X-ray and an MRI on two different areas, and then one team wanted to see the other. When one team asks for it, you have to go get it."
Frazier suffered a brutal injury in the last game of the season, forcing himself to crawl off the field to help his team. Only a few months after his broken fibula was he already back and running full speed. This gave Frazier a lot of confidence, as he was recovering faster than expected. Frazier said he will be ready to go for OTA's. Here's what the center had to say on his recovery process thus far.
"It's good so far. I feel like I've been able to recover pretty fast. As far as where I'm at, I can run a 40, I can do shuttle. I'm training for that now. But I'm going to end up waiting to run those at my Pro Day. But I wanted to show my progress, so I'm going to do position drills here and bench, just to show where I'm at."

The Steelers could find the franchise center for the next decade by selecting Zach Frazier.
As we draw near to the draft at the end of April, Frazier said he is not worried about his draft stock being hurt due to his recent fibula injury. The center is projected to be a first round pick, and for most Yinzers, they hope he falls at least 19 overall picks.
"Just from the injury standpoint, I was lucky that I just broke the bone. I didn't do any ligament damage. If I did, maybe that would hurt. But the doctors just told me that bones heal and I'll be alright."
This is pleasing news to any NFL team looking to steal Frazier in April, as well as it is for Frazier himself. Unfortunately, Pittsburgh did not formally meet with Frazier in Indianapolis, though Head Coach Mike Tomlin did show interest in the stud at the Senior Bowl.

Steelers' Former Starting Center Mason Cole Was Released
After cutting veteran center Mason Cole, the Steelers will be on the search for a new starting center in 2024. Through the draft, many hope the Steelers can somehow land Frazier, or even Oregon's Jackson Powers-Johnson. Free agency will also be a top option both before and after the draft heading into the new season.
The Steelers also have other offensive linemen that are capable of playing center, like James Daniels and Nate Herbig. Steelers General Manager Omar Khan recently spoke at the 2024 NFL Combine, noting that he was pleased with where Daniels was specifically at guard.
The Steelers have had subpar offensive line play for years now, and it's time for a change. Pittsburgh needs to find a guy that is a quality player both on and off of the field that can stay for the long haul. Frazier shows great spirits and has that Steelers' football mentality in him it seems that fans should be excited about.
What do you think, Steeler Nation? Would Frazier be a great addition to the Steelers' desperate o-line? Let us know below.
