The 2024 NFL Draft has now come to a conclusion with the Pittsburgh Steelers welcoming in a class of draft choices that includes several big names. Maybe none bigger around Western Pennsylvania than West Virginia center Zach Frazier. Frazier comes to Pittsburgh with hopes of becoming the team's day one starting center following in the footsteps of Maurkice Pouncey. Pittsburgh also will now become home for National Champion wide receiver Roman Wilson, and first-round pick Troy Fautanu. And no one can'leave out linebacker Payton Wilson who some are screaming is a huge steal for the team in the fourth round.

Now comes another very important time for the Steelers: the signing of undrafted free agents. Pittsburgh has a rich history of adding key players via signings after the draft. Hall of Famer Donnie Shell was an undrafted free agent in 1974, and Super Bowl XLIII hero James Harrison was also undrafted from Kent State. And of course in 2022 undrafted free agent running back Jaylen Warren made the team. Willie Parker is also a notable UDFA.

After Najee Harris saw a league-high 381 touches in 2021, Steelers RB Jaylen Warren became a huge part of the 2022 offense.

We're going to keep you up to date right here for the remainder of the weekend as news comes out of the Steelers signings. To clarify some of these 'signings' are called signings, but instead, are invites to rookie mini camp. From there, the athlete could be offered a contract.

2024 Steelers Draft Results

Round 1 - Pick #20 - Troy Fautanu -- Fautanu joins the Steelers as an instant game-changer on the offensive line. Fautanu is a dominant run-blocker who can line up on either side of the line. He dominated at Washington and many believe the Steelers got a steal getting him at 20.

Round 2 - Pick #51 - Zach Frazier -- Frazier joins the Steelers as an assumed starter at the center position. The Steelers decided to release Mason Cole early into the offseason and center was a glaring need heading into the draft. Getting Frazier at 51 was an absolute win for Pittsburgh.

Round 3 - Pick #84 - Roman Wilson -- Wilson's collegiate career at Michigan saw him as a key figure in a team renowned for its excellence. Despite the Wolverines' run-focused approach in 2023, Wilson showcased his talent by tallying an impressive 12 touchdowns. Many pundits argue that with more opportunities, Wilson could have easily been considered a first-round talent. Known for his gritty play style, precise route running, and team-first mentality, Wilson epitomizes the essence of a hard-nosed wide receiver.

Round 3 - Pick #98 - Payton Wilson -- Wilson enjoyed a remarkable career at North Carolina State, though concerns over his injuries caused him to slide in the draft. Nonetheless, many view the Steelers' selection of him in the third round as a steal. Wilson's accolades speak for themselves: a first-team All-American and the ACC Defensive Player of the Year. Notably, he recorded double-digit tackles in nine of his last 12 games for the Wolfpack, showcasing his undeniable talent and impact on the field.

Round 4 - Pick #119 - Mason McCormick --  McCormick emerged as a standout on the offensive line for South Dakota State, contributing significantly as the left guard for the championship-winning FCS team. A true embodiment of old-school lineman mentality, he dominates defenders with his aggressive approach and refined skill set, persisting in his play long after the whistle echoes.

Round 6 - Pick #178 - Logan Lee -- Lee possesses the versatility to excel across various positions on the defensive line and notably contributed to one of college football's top defenses at Iowa in 2023. During that season, he racked up an impressive 55 total tackles, including 19 solo stops. Now, as he joins the Steelers, he adds depth to a defensive line that faces the challenges of aging.

Round 6 - Pick #195 - Ryan Watts -- Watts displays versatility, capable of performing at cornerback although many pundits see his natural fit at safety. Possessing both length and speed, he attracted attention despite a less-than-stellar combine performance, which allowed the Steelers to secure him in the sixth round. While he's considered more of a developmental project, his collegiate success at Texas hints at his potential. With opportunities to contribute on special teams, Watts aims to carve out an impactful role.
