The Pittsburgh Steelers have been striving to enhance their offensive line for several seasons. In the 2023 NFL Draft, they traded up to draft star prospect tackle, Broderick Jones. The decision to draft him has thrilled Steeler Nation, who have been impressed by his attitude and impact last year. Fans are optimistic about Jones' potential to become a leader on the line.

In the 2024 NFL Draft, Pittsburgh continued their efforts to fortify their trenches. In the first round, they made a highly praised pick by selecting offensive lineman Troy Fautanu. Many pundits lauded this pick as an incredible value and a smart decision by Pittsburgh. In the following round, Pittsburgh drafted their center, Zach Frazier, another pick that received widespread acclaim from both pundits and fans.

The Steelers' offensive line has a strong veteran leader in Isaac Seumalo. There are some questions about James Daniels and his potential impact, but with Seumalo and promising young prospects like Fautanu, Jones, and Frazier, the Steelers' offensive line is poised to grow together and become a formidable unit for many seasons to come.

While many believe the Steelers' offensive line will see significant improvement, the popular metric site Pro Football Focus recently revealed their top 10 offensive lines in the league, ranking Pittsburgh ninth. This is a significant accomplishment for a team that has not seen their offensive line on a top 10 list in several seasons.

The most exciting aspect of this ranking by PFF is the youth of Pittsburgh's offensive line. Many of their promising players have little to no NFL experience. Just imagine where this group could be after a couple of seasons of playing together and gaining that invaluable NFL experience. The Steelers still have some questions about who will be starting on the line in 2024, but regardless of who they line up, the potential is clear and the unit should see significant improvement.

Jones is expected to step up and take on more of a leadership role in the upcoming season. Something he has already been doing in the offseason. Seumalo, with the most experience and strongest resume, is set to anchor the line. Daniels and Dan Moore Jr. face an interesting challenge in finding their spots on the roster. Pittsburgh fans are eagerly awaiting to see how the starting offensive line will shape up, and there's plenty of talent to be excited about.

The timing for Pittsburgh's offensive line to be ranked so favorably couldn't be better. With the Steelers' decision to bring in new Offensive Coordinator, Arthur Smith, Pittsburgh is eager to return to a ground-and-pound style of football, featuring a heavy dose of running. With Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren ready for substantial roles, an improved offensive line greatly enhances Pittsburgh's offensive outlook for the 2024 season.

Steelers' Offensive Line Is Being Rewarded, But Needs To Put Pen To Paper

While this PFF ranking is exciting, it's important to note that Pittsburgh still has to put their talent to work. As mentioned earlier, Pittsburgh has a young and promising line, but with rookies like Frazier and Fautanu, Steelers fans may want to see their performance before declaring them a top-10 offensive line in the league.

Jones has been a particularly exciting addition and should continue to improve in 2024. There is a lot of excitement about Pittsburgh's offensive line, but the question remains whether they can meet expectations in 2024. If the line plays like a top-10 unit, Pittsburgh could surprise football pundits and become a serious contender in the upcoming season.
