The Pittsburgh Steelers have been enthralled in trade rumors with some star receivers around the league for the entirety of the 2024 offseason. This came after trading away Diontae Johnson, which created a serious need at the position behind George Pickens. One of the main receivers the Steelers have been connected to is Brandon Aiyuk of the San Francisco 49ers, who has officially requested a trade.

Aiyuk and the 49ers have been going at it all offseason. He is entering the last year of his rookie deal, and Aiyuk and has expressed his interest in a new contract repeatedly. The two sides have met multiple times, but don't seem to be inching close to a new contract. Mike Garafolo of NFL Network was the first to report the news of the trade request.

The 49ers were in a similar situation a few years ago with Deebo Samuel, and the two sides eventually agreed on a new deal. The request doesn't guaranteed a trade for Aiyuk.
