With the Pittsburgh Steelers competing in their final preseason game on Saturday, all talk in the media has been about the quarterback duel. Russell Wilson and Justin Fields are both looking to start the Week 1 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, but it currently sits in Wilson's favor. Wilson most famously spent the majority of his career with the Seattle Seahawks, where he built a Hall of Fame legacy. It now seems that his run for the Hall of Fame will be cut short if he somehow loses the quarterback competition to Fields. A former Pittsburgh rival was on air Friday night, and shared his personal thoughts on Wilson.

On Fox Sports' Speak, the crew debated whether Head Coach Mike Tomlin can afford to start Fields over Wilson. Saturday at 1:00 P.M. ET, Wilson and Fields will be facing off against the Detroit Lions, showcasing their final QB1 arguments for Tomlin.

Neither have performed considerably well after the first two weeks, leaving the media and NFL community in concern. After other members of the show gave their personal thoughts on the situation in Pittsburgh, former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver TJ Houshmandzadeh slammed Wilson and his career.

Houshmandzadeh started off by acknowledging that Pittsburgh has the best quarterbacks room they've had in years. Following that, he claims that it isn't saying a lot. The former Bengal explains that it's not good for Tomlin that they are asking themselves if he can afford to start Fields.

"He had the perfect situation in Seattle. Great defense, really good receivers, great run game with Marshawn Lynch. What happens is, we as players, we start to think rightfully so, 'It's me.' He wanted more control. That's when 'Let Russ Cook' started, he put that out there. The Russell Wilson that was taking Seattle to the Super Bowl, you've got to give Pete Carroll for that. Not Russell Wilson."

Houshmandzadeh said Wilson's confidence is no longer there. The fan base and the media are all left in wonder about how Tomlin truly feels about his two quarterbacks, but Houshmandzadeh thinks he's got it nailed.

"Mike Tomlin is undecided because he probably wants Justin Fields, but he wants to go with a guy that he saw do well a decade ago. That guy is no longer there. He's going to start. He won't finish. He won't even make it through, I believe, four games as a starter."

The crew continually mentioned how Tomlin is holding onto the Wilson from 2018-2020, who is long gone. After remembering all of the bottom of the barrel quarterback that Tomlin has succeeded with, they still believe he will have a winning season with either of the two.

It's not so often you see a potential Hall of Fame quarterback fighting for his future in a preseason game. Saturday could have huge implications for the trajectory of the Steelers' regular season, and potentially the postseason too.

Steelers Offense Is Looking To Create More Points And Splash Before Turning Over To Regular Season

The Steelers' starting offense hasn't scored a touchdown after two preseason games, but hopefully that changes Saturday. Pittsburgh made a lot of changes in their offense this offseason, and Arthur Smith's new playbook had Steeler Nation excited during training camp. After hopes were raised, fans were brought back down to Earth once the Steelers' offense looked as vanilla as last season.

The offense needs to get back on track. Another slow start to the year because of the offense is the last thing this organization needs at the moment. What do you think of Houshmandzadeh's comments on Wilson? What is Tomlin getting out of his quarterbacks? Who is getting the win on Saturday between the Steelers and Lions? Let us know in the comments below.
