As the Pittsburgh Steelers prepared to face the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1, Falcons Head Coach Raheem Morris issued a warning to star linebacker TJ Watt. Leading up to the matchup, Morris singled out Watt, emphasizing his ability to wreck games. Morris vowed not to let Watt dominate the contest.

Despite the Falcons' best efforts, Watt delivered a standout performance. He recorded four total tackles, one sack, one fumble recovery, and two tackles for loss. Watt also had two strip-sacks, both of which were nullified by penalties. One call, in particular, sparked controversy, with the referee later admitting it was a mistake. Regardless of the penalties, Watt undeniably impacted the game.

Now, as the Steelers gear up for their Week 2 showdown against the Denver Broncos, attention is once again on Watt. On Thursday, Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton addressed the media and made a bold statement about Watt, setting the stage for another highly anticipated performance from the Steelers' defensive star. The Broncos will have their hands full trying to contain Watt as he looks to continue his dominant form. Sutton is ready to put his hands on Watt to slow him down.

"Whatever they need me to do in that specific moment, I'm gonna go do," Sutton said. "If I gotta go put my hands on TJ Watt, then I'm gonna go do that. If I gotta go run a route and go get open against the secondary, then that's what I'm gonna go do. Whatever job they need me to do, whatever task they need me to go do, l'm gonna do it to the best of my ability so that we can go be successful."

Sutton trying to challenge Watt wouldn’t end well for him. Watt easily overpowers offensive linemen, and Sutton would be no match for the dominant pass rusher.

However, Sutton’s remarks highlight his team-first mentality, even though it's unlikely he’ll play any role in slowing Watt down. In fact, the idea of Sutton containing Watt is virtually impossible.

Steelers' TJ Watt Likely To Dominate Against Denver In Week 2

The Broncos’ offensive line struggled during their Week 1 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, and this creates another prime opportunity for Watt to make game-changing plays. With Denver starting rookie quarterback Bo Nix, applying pressure will be crucial. The Steelers should have no trouble exploiting the Broncos' weaknesses upfront, allowing Watt to wreak havoc once again.

Sutton was actually considered a potential trade target for the Steelers during the offseason. However, the Broncos were unwilling to part with him, viewing Sutton as their best wide receiver and a crucial weapon for their young quarterback.

Now, Steelers fans hope Watt heard Sutton’s recent comments and will use them as fuel—though Watt hardly needs extra motivation. From missed calls acknowledged by refs to being snubbed for the AP Defensive Player of the Year Award, Watt already has plenty to prove.

When will opposing teams learn? Mentioning Watt’s name in pregame interviews never ends well. History shows it only backfires. While Sutton’s remarks weren’t intended to provoke, it’s amusing to hear an opposing wide receiver talk about challenging the most dominant player in the game. Steeler Nation is eager to watch Watt take the field in Denver and deliver another standout performance this Sunday.
