The Pittsburgh Steelers have a big game ahead of them in Week 3. It is their home opener and they will be hosting the undefeated Los Angeles Chargers as the two teams each try to stay undefeated. Neither team has beat anyone super impressive, so each side is trying to figure out how good they actually are. Pittsburgh will be starting Justin Fields, but there may some shake-up on the offensive line after a report coming out of practice on Friday.

Steelers' Troy Fautanu and Broderick Jones sit in their lockers before Week 1 against the Falcons.
Pittsburgh's tackle situation is a bit confusing. Dan Moore Jr. is the starting left tackle. Broderick Jones was a left tackle in college but started at right tackle for the Steelers to end the 2023 season, and Troy Fautanu was also a left tackle in college and the team plans for him to be the starting right tackle of the future. Jones will then start over Moore at left tackle when the coaching staff feels he is ready. Jones started at right tackle in Week 1, Fautanu started in Week 2 - and it's safe to say he earned the right tackle job moving forward.
However, ESPN's Brooke Pryor reported that she spoke to Jones following practice on Friday, and he shared that Fautanu got a little banged up and that Jones is ready to start if needed.
Broderick Jones said rookie RT Troy Fautanu tweaked something today, gave him an opportunity to work with the first team OL at right tackle.

Jones said they don’t know Fautanu’s status for Sunday, but he’s ready if he needs to start.
This isn't the best news for fans. It's unclear what exactly is wrong with Fautanu, but it isn't very promising that the organization's first-round selection has already suffered his second injury with the team. He looked good in his debut in Week 2, and Pittsburgh will certainly miss him if he can't go in Week 3.

Steelers' Broderick Jones Will Need To Redeem Himself
Fautanu has looked good, and Jones looked good as well in Week 1. It seemed as though the only reason he was removed from the starting lineup was to get the rookie in there, and to allow Jones to start fighting for the left tackle spot. However, Jones cycled in with Fautanu on one drive during Pittsburgh's Week 2 win, and it was a disaster for Jones.
Jones struggled on his run blocking assignments, and he was flagged three times in just a handful of plays. Once was for a false start, and the other two were holding penalties. This got him pulled out of the game in the middle of a possession, and Fautanu replaced him. If Fautanu can't go on Sunday, Jones will need to redeem his mistakes from Week 2. It won't be easy, as the Chargers have some high-end pass rushers in Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa.
