The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off a commanding 20-10 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, marking their third win of the season and keeping them undefeated. Despite preseason doubts, many analysts predicted Pittsburgh would finish last in the AFC North, but the Steelers currently sit at the top with a 3-0 record.

One of the Steelers' most vocal supporters has been NFL analyst Kyle Brandt. After their Week 1 win against the Atlanta Falcons, Brandt went on a fiery rant, calling people "idiots" for not giving TJ Watt the respect he deserves. His enthusiasm only grew after the Steelers’ latest win over the Chargers.

During Monday’s episode of Good Morning Football, Brandt couldn't have been more positive about the Steelers. He praised the entire team, but singled out the defense as the best in football. The Steelers' defense held the Chargers to an astonishing negative five yards in the second half, and Brandt passionately highlighted the greatness he's witnessed from Pittsburgh so far.
"The Steelers' defense is not a great story. It's a terrible, horrifying story. You wanna come down from the stands as a mother and take your children off the field when you play against them, and I wouldn't blame you," Brandt said. "I told you guys, it doesn't matter. Stop doubting the Steelers, you idiots. They're gonna win the division. Watch the Steelers go to the Super Bowl. I'm telling you."
After just three games, Brandt is convinced: the Steelers will win the AFC North. In a bold statement, he went even further, claiming that Pittsburgh is on track to reach the Super Bowl this season.

Steelers' Nick Herbig celebrates after destroying the Chargers during Week 3.
The Steelers boast the highest-paid defense in the NFL, anchored by superstars like Watt, Cam Heyward, Minkah Fitzpatrick, and a host of other playmakers. During the Chargers game, Nick Herbig stepped up impressively in place of an injured Alex Highsmith. Brandt was blown away by how dominant this Steelers defense has been, expressing his amazement at their performance.
"They're wrecking people. It's so fun to watch," Brandt said. "You watch Steelers games, they don't go to RedZone very much, if you watch on RedZone, 'cause the other team is never in the red zone."
The Steelers' defense was widely expected to be elite heading into the 2024 season, and so far, they've lived up to the hype. Allowing just 8.7 points per game—the best in the league—they’ve been a dominant force. While the defense has been the backbone of Pittsburgh’s success in recent years, this season they’re getting more help from the offense.
After the 2023 season, the Steelers made significant changes, including hiring Arthur Smith as offensive coordinator. Through three games, Smith hasn’t revealed his full playbook, but he’s gotten results. He’s allowed Justin Fields to throw when necessary, and the offense has executed well, aside from a few penalties.
Steelers Are Starting To Get Respect Around The NFL
With the offense gaining momentum and the defense playing at an elite level, some analysts are now seriously considering the Steelers as legitimate contenders.
