The Pittsburgh Steelers showed off every little piece of their dynamic offense in a 44-38 win against the Cincinnati Bengals. Quarterback Russell Wilson had 414 yards and three touchdowns on 29 completions. This was one of the greatest statistical games of his career, and the offense was clicking along with him. This is the first time that Pittsburgh scored over 40 points since 2018, when they put up 52 against the Carolina Panthers.

Steelers' Russell Wilson celebrates after throwing a touchdown against the Cincinnati Bengals in 2024.

Wilson managed to connect with 10 different receivers, and he was asked about that in his postgame press conference. He praised every lesser name that he could think of.

"I think the versatility of our guys and how everybody can catch -- Our tight ends, obviously. Darnell [Washington], I thought [MyCole] Pruitt had a great catch starting off the half coming across the middle. I think Pat [Freiermuth] and Pru and obviously Big Darnell and what he's done for us this season."

The tight ends did have a very productive Sunday overall. Pat Freiermuth led the team in receptions with six catches to go along with 68 yards and a touchdown. Darnell Washington and MyCole Pruitt combined for three receptions for 31 yards, but they were still very productive as blockers as well. As Wilson said, Pruitt did have a nice 18-yard reception over the middle of the field early in the seconf half as well.

Steelers' Special Teams Players Receive Praise From Both Wilson And Tomlin

Wilson continued with the praise, as he moved on from tight ends to running backs, and he had one particular guy that he wanted to shout out.

"I think all our backs caught the ball well. I was really proud of those guys. Seeing [Cordarrelle Patterson] run a deep cross -- former receiver, a guy that can do everything. He's a Hall-of-Fame player. We just have trust in him."

Cordarrelle Patterson is known as more of a kick return threat, but with all the touchbacks going over his head, he needs to be productive in the offense whenever his number is called. When Najee Harris went out for a period of time early in the game, Patterson stepped up and took control. Even Mike Tomlin praised his efforts in his postgame press conference.

With Harris out, Patterson had 53 scrimmage yards on six touches. He was rarely on the field once Harris returned, but Patterson made some plays when he needed to. 37 of those yards came from the passing game. Like with the game against the Los Angeles Chargers, Patterson proved that he is still more than just a returner.

Steelers' Ben Skowronek

Wilson kept going with the praise, as he brought up another unlikely contributor that Tomlin mentioned before him.

"Obviously, our wide receivers, any time you have a guy go down like Calvin [Austin] - who is a great player for us, had a great job on the touchdown, isolated the guy - I think guys have to step up and respond. Ben Skowronek did a great job of responding, he did a good job up the seam."

Wilson would eventually name off starters that did well, but it is very interesting to see both him and Tomlin call out Ben Skowronek specifically. He had just one grab, but it was a 23-yard reception up the seam that set up Wilson's touchdown pass to Freiermuth. This game just goes to show what happens when literally everyone on offense is contributing in any way possible.

While the Steelers will likely not replicate this game exactly, it is still great to know that anyone on the offense can step up and make a play when they are needed. It's even better to see that the defense doesn't have to do literally everything to drag this team to wins anymore. This offense is cooking, and "Chef Russ" is headlining this restaurant that serves up points all day.

What do you think about Wilson taking the time to individually call out every lesser-known player for their contributions to the team? Let us know in the comments.
