The Pittsburgh Steelers' 2025 offseason has been wild so far. It started with a blockbuster trade to invest heavily and give up assets to bring in superstar wide receiver DK Metcalf. The only issue is the Steelers still don’t know who’s going to be throwing him the football. It seems most likely that Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers end up together for the 2025 season, but anything can happen.

The Steelers have received a lot of criticism for how they’ve handled this offseason, particularly for letting quarterbacks walk to focus on Rodgers. However, if Rodgers does end up in Pittsburgh, many would view it as a massive upgrade at the most important position in football. With the trade for Metcalf, the team is clearly going all-in on the 2025 season, and adding Rodgers could be a game-changer.
There have been big-time doubts about Rodgers after he won just five games with the New York Jets in 2024. However, NFL insider Aditi Kinkhabwala claimed on 93.7 The Fan that she’s had deep talks with Rodgers about how, even at 41 years old, he still feels like he’s got his mobility back and isn’t a statue like many Steelers fans have suggested. If Rodgers can bring back even a glimpse of his former self, he could lead the Steelers back to prominence.
"He’s still in really good shape," Kinkhabwala said. "I haven’t had a chance to say this on air with you guys yet, but there’s a lot of chatter about whether he can move or not. I hear a lot of your callers calling and talking about that."
Rodgers may not move like he did at 25, especially at 41 years old, but he can still move. During the 2024 season, he admitted something to Kinkhabwala that leads her to believe he won’t be a statue if he teams up with the Steelers for the 2025 season.

Despite the doubts surrounding his mobility, Rodgers has shown he can still be an effective quarterback, even if his movement isn’t what it once was.
"He can still move," Kinkhabwala said. "We had a meeting this past season where he admitted the first, one, two, three games, he was hesitant and nervous about the Achilles and then he did feel like he had his strengths. He said part of his game has been being able to move a little bit and rolling out a little bit. He still has confidence in that and his ability to do that."
While the Steelers and their fans continue to wait on Rodgers to make his decision, all signs point toward him ending up in the Steel City. He was recently seen throwing and working out with Metcalf, fueling speculation that the Steelers and Rodgers already have a secret deal in place. The contract is expected to be a one-year deal, and it will be intriguing to see the exact details once they are revealed.
Reports suggest that the contract isn’t holding up any progress—Rodgers already knows the terms, and now it's just a matter of him waiting for the right moment to announce his decision. All eyes are on the Steelers front office and Rodgers as they work to solidify their starting quarterback for the 2025 season. The clock is ticking, and the excitement continues to build as the offseason drama unfolds.
Steelers' Offseason Drama Continues
As the offseason drama intensifies, the Steelers' bold moves have set the stage for a pivotal 2025 season. The addition of Metcalf was just the beginning, signaling a clear commitment to making a championship push. If Rodgers does indeed join the team, it will bring a new layer of excitement, but also a sense of urgency.

The Steelers are placing their faith in a veteran quarterback looking to prove he's not done yet, and it’s a gamble that could either pay off big or leave them reevaluating their future plans. One thing’s for sure—the 2025 season is shaping up to be one of the most drama filled in recent Steelers history.
