The Pittsburgh Steelers have had their fans on the edge of their seats for nearly two months now as the organization has continued to wait for an answer from veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The four-time league MVP has been considering what to do with his future for quite some time now, as retirement is clearly still an option for the quarterback. However, he has taken a lot of steps that point towards him playing during the 2025 season. He was a part of a throwing session with newly acquired wide receiver DK Metcalf, and he has been seen training throughout the offseason.

It is still hard to tell whether or not Rodgers will end up in Pittsburgh, he is a fairly private individual that likes to keep to himself and his inner circle. He has some known hobbies, including playing golf. There have been some people that have been keeping an eye on local clubs in the Pittsburgh area to see whether or not Rodgers has spoken with the club about joining, and radio host Andrew Fillipponi sparked a rumor on Saturday that Rodgers joined Nevillewood Country Club.
This rumor ran rampant, with the obvious inclination being that Rodgers was going to sign in Pittsburgh. Fillipponi's rumor was quickly disproven by Rich Walsh of KDKA.

Walsh claims to have spoken to the club's president, who confirmed that Rodgers had not joined. There is always the case that Rodgers wants to be discreet and he asked the club to say no, but as of now him joining a club in Pittsburgh seems like nothing more than a rumor.
The veteran quarterback is running out of time to make his decision as mandatory minicamp begins in just under a month for Pittsburgh. He can still sign afterwards, but it would be nice to see the starting quarterback in Pittsburgh by then.

Although Rodgers has not joined a club yet, he has been interested in the clubs in the area. This is a clear sign that he is preparing to spend some time in the Pittsburgh area, which makes it easy to assume that he plans on wearing the black and gold in 2025. Walsh spoke to some members of the organization, and he found out that Rodgers was indeed asked for golf club recommendations.

No one knows what Rodgers is thinking besides the man himself, so everyone is just grasping at straws when it comes to guessing his future plans. The organization has remained confident that he would be signing at some point, but the timeline remains unclear.

Steelers May Go In To Mandatory Minicamp Without Rodgers
If Rodgers plans to wait until closer to training camp to sign, then there is a real possibility that he will miss minicamp. This isn't a huge deal, but it is a good time for players to build chemistry with one another and for new faces to get to know the playbook. If Rodgers signs at some point, there is no question he is going to be the starting quarterback. It would be nice to see him clear three days to be able to attend minicamp and get to know some of the players on the team.
