The Pittsburgh Steelers head into 2026 with some decisions to make at many major positions. The Steelers will be looking to add to their offense in the draft and free agency. However, the left side of the offensive line seems uncertain. With a position battle between Broderick Jones and Dylan Cook for the left tackle spot potentially on the horizon, another position on the line is just as uncertain. The Steelers will have a spot to fill at left guard, and their starter has been linked to a fellow AFC team, which could leave the Steelers scrambling for a left guard option.

According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), the Steelers' free agent left guard, Isaac Seumalo, should be linked to the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders have had their fair share of issues in the run game and need to boost their offensive line to pave the way for their star running back, Ashton Jeanty.
Seumalo would fit the newly-hired Head Coach Klint Kubiak's offense well, and be a good signing for General Manager John Spytek. Kubiak runs a ton of play action and is diverse in his run game. PFF's Mason Cameron described Seumalo's potential impact in those areas.
"The 32-year-old guard has been excellent throughout his career with the Eagles and Steelers. During his three seasons in Pittsburgh, Seumalo showcased his talent as a run blocker in gap (82nd percentile) and zone (92nd percentile) concepts," said Cameron. "But where he really sets himself apart is through his ability to sell the run out of play action without overextending, having generated the fourth-highest play-action PFF pass-blocking grade (87.8) among guards over the past three seasons."
During his time with the Steelers, Seumalo has played an excellent left guard. The 10-year veteran has established himself as one of the league's best at the position. Seumalo was selected to the 2024 Pro Bowl with the Steelers and has been a solid force for the group for the past three seasons. If the Steelers were to lose out or move on from Seumalo, they would need to find a high-quality replacement if they want to replicate the value that he has in the trenches.

Steelers Need To Figure Out Their Left Side Of The Line
With Seumalo set to test the market and an odd position battle between Jones and Cook, the Steelers have yet another big decision to make in this offseason. Seumalo provided consistency for the Steelers. He was a great pass blocker and solid in the run game.
However, if he decides to move on from the team, some other free agents could fill his role. These include the likes of Alijah Vera-Tucker and David Edwards. These two linemen have veteran experience, and Vera-Tucker, coming off a season-ending injury, was elite with the Jets in 2024.

If the Steelers decide to go with a veteran like Vera-Tucker, they would still be wise to target a young linemen potentially in the mid-to-late rounds of the draft. Since the Steelers own over 10 draft picks, they have a ton of versatility in what positions of need could fit the bill of being a draft pick.
If the Steelers do draft a young interior offensive lineman, some names that could be available when the Steelers could get creative would be Keylan Rutledge or Ar'maj Reed-Adams. The Steelers should make the smart move and draft a guard, as their next best option would be to fill the position with Spencer Anderson. However, Anderson is in the last year of his rookie deal, and the Steelers need to extend him or risk the chance of his departure.
Either way, the Steelers should draft a lineman to remain young and have a plug-and-play option in case they lose out on some of their in-house talent. The guard position will more than likely be addressed in free agency if the Steelers would rather use their draft capital on other positions of need.
