Minicamp is now over for the Pittsburgh Steelers as now fans await for training camp to begin next month. The Steelers released an exclusive video of head coach, Mike Tomlin addressing his team during minicamp.
Tomlin is known to be a motivator and if there is anything that can prove that fact, this video does just that. It shows Tomlin pacing in front of his team with several words challenging his team and emphasizing leadership.
Tomlin begins by explaining how important a strong environment is for the success of the Steelers:
"We got to have a great environment. A great environment produces individual great days and collective great days. And so we all bear a little bit of responsibility to make sure that we elevate this floor that we all are walking on around here daily."

Tomlin shared a message to the team of simplicity commenting on how there is no secret on what the team should be doing as the camera went to edge rusher, T.J. Watt and then quarterback, Mitch Trubisky:
"There's nothing mystical about what it is that we do. If you're trying to be great, man, participation is required and we have had outstanding participation," said Tomlin.The motivational head coach went on to describe the importance of respecting all of those in the building:
"We are always going to show respect to the other men that we work alongside. We are going to adhere to the times prescribed on our daily schedules."Both safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and defensive lineman, Cameron Heyward looked locked in and mesmerized by what Tomlin was saying after he said this. Tomlin continued by setting his expectations for the Steelers players and coaches.
"I'm just being really transparent about my expectations, my mindset and how I want you to behave in this environment. It is important that I give you the answers to the test. To me, that's just good leadership. I'm not going to change my expectations as we move into a different component of football and not show you where the bright lines are."It is no secret that since Tomlin became the Steelers head coach, he has been labeled as a players coach and this quick exclusive from the team proves just that. He wants to get the best out of his players, coaches and most important, himself. The standard is the standard and Tomlin gave us a bit of an idea about what goes on in his head. He prioritizes togetherness, leadership, accountability and overall respect. His players respect him because of the respect and transparency he has and shows them.
