Sunday is the Pittsburgh Steelers' final day of their 2022 rookie camp, and reporters caught up with receiver Calvin Austin III this weekend to ask him about his experience so far as being one of the smallest guys on the field, what his plan is now that camp is over, and of course, how it's been catching footballs from first round selection, Kenny Pickett.
Austin was drafted by Pittsburgh in the fourth round (138th overall) in the 2022 NFL Draft. Standing at just 5'8" and 170lbs., Austin brings elite speed (4.32 40-yard dash) to the position group, and a competitive fire that is sure to spread among his teammates.

Steelers' Austin and Pickett's early relationship
When asked about how it's been participating with Pickett, Austin expressed his excitement working with him so far, and for what's to come between the two:
"That boy can throw it! I already knew he could throw it from the Senior Bowl and stuff so you know, catching balls from him just feels comfortable. It feels great."

On being not the "tallest" guy on the field, Austin explained that there's much more than size that makes someone special at what they do.
"I would just say my heart. When I get out there, it has never been a thing where I'm just, 'Man, these guys big,' or 'I'm small.' I've never felt that way. When I get out there, I'm a dog. So, I'm just ready for whatever competition, whoever is in front of me. And when I'm on the field, I have no fear."
Austin also spoke about his relationship so far with second round selection, George Pickens, what it was like being even smaller in high school, playing defensive back, and much more.
