The Pittsburgh Steelers seem to be encouraged that star defender, T.J. Watt will return at some point this season after suffering a pec injury in the team's 23-20 season-opening win against the Cincinnati Bengals. He will miss some time, however, which prompted the organization to make a move associated with the linebacker position on Tuesday. According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Steelers worked out and have signed fotmoutside linebacker, Ryan Anderson to the practice squad.

Anderson, who hasn't played since 2020, has played in 52 professional games for Washington and started four. His four starts came in 2019 and he had a career-high four sacks that season. He has 86 combined tackles, 15 QB hits and seven tackles for loss in his career.
The move all but ensures that Watt will end up on IR and miss a minimum of four games. Anderson most likely won't be anything other than a practice squad player. Steelers fans can expect Delontae Scott to be promoted when and if the announcement is officially made that Watt will head to IR.
