Pickett and company seem to be settling into some kind of routine and are playing the best football of the season. Pittsburgh leass the Colts in every important offensive category so far. At the half, Pittsburgh has 232 total yards of offense to the Colts 71. Steelers have 116 passing and 116 rushing yards, while the Colts have 29 passing and 42 rushing yards. Pickett has thrown no interceptions so far this game (knock on wood) to Matt Ryan's 1. Unfortunately, the Steelers still struggle with capitalizing on those turnovers.

The Steelers are 30th in the NFL so far this season for total yards with 3,122 and 28th in average yards per game with 312.2. The Steelers 16 points also represents a huge leap forward as they are 31st in the league in points scored with 170 and 28th in the league with average points per game with 17. This first half has them nearly meeting their average for the whole game.

The offense has also improved on penalties so far this half. They only have one so far, a 10-yard holding penalty on Dan Moore, Jr. That is a huge improvement as they have been averaging 6 penalties per game this season.

Pickett has been doing a better job reading the field this evening. He even threw a pass to Diontae Johnson who has had 4 receptions for 41 yards. George Pickens has again been showing off his incredible hands with a 35-yard reception. The running backs have looked solid with Benny Snell and Anthony McFarland more involved with Jaylen Warren out with an injury. Najee Harris has been doing a better job getting upfield and has 10 rushes for 35 yards. He has since left the game with an abdomen injury.

All of this offensive action has given the defense the time they need to recover between drives and their play also seems improved over Week 12.

There is still a whole half to play so we don't want to get ahead of ourselves. The Steelers have been known to let their foot off the gas in the second half.  Regardless, this first half should give fans hope that the offense is coming together.
