The Steelers asking price was steep and no team was willing to meet the Steelers demand. The Steelers get their man with Joey Porter Jr, the son of linebacker and legend Joey Porter. This week Porter joined the All Things Covered Podcast with Bryant McFadden and admitted he'd love to land in Pittsburgh.
"That would be dope [to team up]. I already know you got a lot of knowledge on the game, and I'm just going to be asking you a lot of questions if that happens. That would be exciting," Porter said on All Things Covered."
Scouting Report From NFL.com
Overview
Ascending cornerback combining traits and above average play strength that create a clear definition of who he is as a player. He can reroute the release and has the frame to close catch windows against big receivers in press-man or Cover 2 looks. Delayed transitions and sluggish change of direction put him in conflict in off coverages, so teams must pay attention to matchups and scheme in order to avoid a field full of yellow laundry. There is work to be done to improve tackle consistency in the run game, but he finishes tackles after a catch. Porter has scheme limitations, but he also has CB1 potential with more work and if utilized properly.
Porter Jr. joined The Rich Eisen Show on Friday and spoke a little bit about how his visit with the Steelers went and went into a little bit of detail when touching on what they talked about.
"The history of my dad and everything he's done for the sport and the Steelers. That comes to mind. They've talked to me about that a little bit; and what I could bring to the table. It was a great conversation."
