When the Pittsburgh Steelers first brought in Nate Herbig as an offensive guard on the team, fans didn't know what to think of him, but after listening to him in interviews, he is slowly becoming a fan favorite. Then during the 2023 NFL Draft, the Steelers selected Nate's brother Nick Herbig in the fourth round. The two of them are slowly looking like they will be the next family dynamic duo for the city of Pittsburgh.

Steelers free agent signing Nate Herbig brings a much-needed edge and toughness to an improved offensive line.

Thrilled To Be A Part Of The Steelers

Although Nate is brought in as a rotational piece to the offensive line, he could easily see playing time in 2023. He was a part of the elite offensive line for the Philadelphia Eagles from 2019-2021 as a rotational guy. During 2020, he started five games after the team had lost both guards due to injury. He has experience already playing with one of the Steelers' newest additions, Isaac Seumalo as well. With Nate having played behind Seumalo in the past, it is most likely that he will be his substitute for the 2023 season.

The reason why Nate became a fan favorite started with his day-one interviews. He seemed thrilled to be a part of the Steelers. He was not only excited about being a part of the franchise, he showed his leadership with the mentality that he has about his teammates. This interview made all the fans excited about this signing. Especially when he was asked about what made him a good fit to be on the Steelers.

"It's the Steelers! What isn't there about it? I don't have enough to say. The guys on the team have already reached out to me. Kenny [Pickett] reached out to me, just shows his leadership already. Just happy to be a part of this team."

Nick is another guy that has become a favorite of the fans before even playing an NFL snap. When he found out that he was going to be drafted by the Steelers, he seemed to be ecstatic and talked about how he dreamed of this for years. His hot motor and pash rush ability made him a perfect fit for the Steelers. At only 21 years old, he should be able to have a lengthy career while at Pittsburgh and could take the rule that T.J. Watt has when he retires.

The main focus of Nick is getting to pair him with his brother. Something that the Steelers like to do a lot. Letting Nick play with Nate could benefit him a ton as it gives him a support system on the team. This could make the two of them the next great family duo in Pittsburgh.

Recently, the two brothers got the opportunity to get more involved in the Pittsburgh culture. On Sunday, the Pittsburgh Pirates had the two throw out the first pitch of the game. Nick was the one who threw out the pitch and they had Nate be the one who caught the pitch. Hopefully, we will see more of this from the brothers as they are slowly making a name for themselves in the city.
