Haggans was drafted by the Steelers in the fifth round of the 2000 NFL Draft. He spent his first four seasons primarily as a backup, but made his presence felt on the field with his exceptional athleticism and strong work ethic after becoming a starter in 2004. In the following years, Haggans became a regular starter for the Steelers, contributing significantly to the team's formidable defense. Haggans spent his first four years backing up long time outside linebacker Jason Gildon.
His second year as a full-time starter would be Haggans best. In 2005 he recorded 9 of his careers 46.5 sacks, recorded 4 forced fumbles, and finished the regular season with 61 tackles.

Haggans eventually left the Steelers and headed to Arizona. He spent four seasons in Arizona and started 43 games for the Cardinals. Things would come full circle for Haggans as he would help lead the Cardinals to the Super Bowl in 2008 before they ultimately lost to his former team. Haggans would spend his last season in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers before retiring in 2012.
Prayers to Haggans family, and friends.
