Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterbacks Coach Mike Sullivan took over play-calling duties after Matt Canada's firing and their success in Week 12 of 2023 speaks to his bond with Kenny Pickett
The news comes as a bit of a surprise considering that Sullivan only has two seasons as an offensive coordinator in the NFL, but both of those seasons came with the New York Giants where Pierce was a member of their Defense. After a Week 6 meltdown in 2017 Sullivan would take over the play calling duties from then head coach Ben McAdoo.
The #Raiders will interview #Steelers QB coach Mike Sullivan for their offensive coordinator job, sources say. Sullivan, who called plays this season after Matt Canada was fired, was an assistant on Tom Coughlin’s #Giants staff while Antonio Pierce captained the defense.

Sullivan took over the play calling duties for the Steelers when Matt Canada was fired in November. The Steelers offensive would eventually put up back-to-back 30-point games when Mason Rudolph took over at quarterback.
