The Pittsburgh Steelers have invested a ton into their offensive line over the last couple of years. The group was set to take a major step forward in 2024 thanks to rookies Zach Frazier and Troy Fautanu. Frazier has been spectacular, and so has Fautanu when he's been able to play. Pittsburgh lost Fautanu for at least the regular season after he sustained an injury during practice ahead of the team's Week 3 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers. This forced Broderick Jones back into his starting role at right tackle.

Due to the injury trouble on the offensive line, Pittsburgh is signing Calvin Anderson. Anderson is a tackle who is in his fifth season of playing in the NFL. He has experience playing both tackle positions, which is crucial as he was brought in for depth behind Jones and Dan Moore Jr. The news of the signing was initially reported by NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
The #Steelers are signing veteran OT Calvin Anderson, source says. Anderson, who was released off IR by the #Patriots last month, worked out for Pittsburgh today.

Pittsburgh needed depth at tackle, as Dylan Cook is on injured reserve to begin the season. Jones has also been dealing with an arm injury that he has been playing through, but if it gets worse throughout the year, he could miss some time. Anderson has valuable experience and versatility that Pittsburgh can rely on as a backup. Anderson has spent time with the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots. He has played in 46 games throughout his career while starting 14 of them.
