The best players at quarterback

Terry Bradshaw is one of the Steelers' all-time great quarterbacks. He won four Super Bowls and was a former MVP. Ben Roethlisberger is ahead of him in terms of statistics, with 64,088 yards and 418 touchdowns. You can also discover the world of poker and get to know the game's top players.

During the 2004 season, Roethlisberger achieved the feat of winning his first 13 regular season games. In 2005, the Steelers won Super Bowl XL with Roethlisberger at the helm, as well as in 2008 for Super Bowl XLIII.

Top running backs

Many fans consider Franco Harris' “Immaculate Reception” in the 1972 playoff game to be a pivotal moment in Steelers history. This gesture enabled the franchise to dominate championships after going decades without a win. Harris is also considered one of the undisputed leaders at running back, with 11,950 yards and 91 touchdowns to his credit. He was a 9-time Pro Bowler and 8 times over 1,000 yards in 12 years with Pittsburgh. That's why Harris is considered the best player at his position.

One of the players who has rivaled the records held by Harris is Jerome Bettis. Bettis joined the Steelers franchise in 1996 after spending 3 years with the Los Angeles Rams. He then spent the next 10 seasons in the black and gold jersey. This running back stood out for his exceptional qualities in his position. He exceeded 1,000 yards in each of his first 6 years with the franchise. After 10 years, Bettis has 10,571 yards and 78 touchdowns to his credit. He is renowned for his powerful style and nicknamed “The Bus.” His performances and exceptional qualities helped Pittsburgh win Super Bowl XL alongside Roethlisberger.

Rocky Bleier is considered another great, who was capable of filling in for Franco Harris in the '70s. This player also took part in and won all 4 Super Bowls as a major contributor during his time in the Steel City. He managed to score 23 touchdowns, despite his complementary role to Harris. It's also worth remembering that Bleier injured his leg with a grenade during the Vietnam War.

The best offensive linemen

The Steelers have had several outstanding offensive linemen in their history. Examples include Mike Webster and Dermontti Dawson, who are both Hall of Fame players. Alan Faneca and Maurkice Pouncey should not be overlooked, as these players also boast exceptional accolades.

Three of Pittsburgh's best offensive linemen played in the 1970s, when the franchise won 4 Super Bowls. They included:

- Mike Webster was the anchor in the middle of the line.

- Jon Kolb manned Terry Bradshaw's blind side.

- Larry Brown was initially a good tight end, who later moved to right tackle.

Webster delivered outstanding performances for many years. He was unbelievably solid for consecutive seasons and played in 9 Pro Bowls.

Dawson is one of the finest offensive linemen ever to play for the Steelers. He replaced Webster at center on the Steelers' offensive line. His outstanding performances earned him a place on the NFL's All-Decade Team of the 1990s.

The best players at linebacker

In 1974, the Steelers were looking for a strongman to complete their defensive unit. They turned to Jack Lambert in the 2nd round of the NFL Draft. A starter in the first game, this linebacker amazed fans with his top-level performance. This led to him winning the Rookie of the Year Award and the 1974 Super Bowl. Lambert eventually made 9 Pro Bowls. During Super Bowl XIV, this linebacker made an outstanding interception. It helped the Steelers win their 4th title. That's why Lambert made history and became a member of the Hall of Fame in 1990.
