Steelers' George Pickens Takes Big Shot At Browns' Greg Newsome's "Fake Tough Guy" Comments

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns have been going at it since the snow-bowl alongside Lake Erie just two weeks ago. The Steelers lost embarrassingly to a two-win Cleveland team who have been a mess as a franchise this season, and one of the biggest highlights of the game came during the final Hail Mary pass for Pittsburgh in which George Pickens and Grew Newsome II got into it. After the loss, Pickens would not detail or specify what exactly happened between he and Newsome.

As the Steelers were just roughly 30 yards away from a game-winning touchdown over Cleveland, Russell Wilson and the offense had time for one more play. Instead of making a play on the ball, Pickens and Newsome went all the way through the end zone and towards the stands in a scuffle.

After the game, Newsome said Pickens was a "fake tough guy." Since then, tensions between the two teams have been super high and there's a lot of anticipation for their rematch on Sunday. There were talks about a possible fine or punishment being sent to Pickens' way, but the Steelers wide receiver dodged a bullet from the NFL. On Friday, Pickens was asked about Newsome and his postgame comments. Pickens' response is nothing short of surprising, but still worth watching.

For some time now, Pickens has had a target on his back by everyone in the NFL outside of the Steelers' building. Pickens' antics even continued in last week's win over the Cincinnati Bengals where he was penalized twice for unsportsmanlike conduct, and he was lucky to avoid being disqualified.

The AFC North division rivals have done well as far as getting under Pickens' skin. On the Steelers' opening drive versus Cincinnati, Wilson threw a pick-six that was intended for Pickens. However, he was clearly brought down by his helmet and should have been brought back for defensive pass interference. Wilson and Pickens quickly responded by connecting for a 17-yard touchdown the following drive.

Steelers' George Pickens Looking For Huge Revenge Game Against Cleveland Browns In Pittsburgh

After the Steelers' tough loss to the Browns on Thursday Night Football, Pickens told reporters that Cleveland got lucky with the snowy conditions. With Cleveland coming to the Steel City this weekend, Pickens is going to want a big bounce-back game in his home stadium. There should be clear skies in Pittsburgh on Sunday, so there won't be any excuses coming away without a victory this time around.

Pickens was targeted seven times in Cleveland, but only finished the day with four catches for 48 yards. There were multiple plays in which Pickens seemed to have been held or grabbed, but the officials weren't giving him any breaks. Pickens was visibly frustrated all night with the officiating and the way Cleveland was able to get under his skin, but that will need to change if the Steelers want to redeem themselves.

There aren't many cornerbacks in the NFL that can truly lock down Pickens, and Newsome surely isn't one of them. Emotions will be extremely high in Pittsburgh on Sunday, and it'll be interesting to see how Pickens will respond after a tough few weeks.

What do you think of Pickens' response to Newsome? What kind of performance will the Steelers' wide receiver have in store for their rematch with the last-place Browns? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
