The offense very clearly has missed their best offensive player, and all signs are trending in the right direction that Pickens will be a full go against the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day. Without Pickens on the field, the Steelers' passing game has struggled to find consistency and explosiveness. The wide receiver room has failed to fully step up in Pickens' absence. Quarterback Russell Wilson has been forced to rely heavily on short passes and check-downs, limiting the offense's ability to stretch the field. Pickens' likely return not only brings back a true deep threat but also opens up opportunities for other receivers to capitalize on softer coverage.

As the Steelers prepare for a crucial showdown with the Chiefs, the likely return of Pickens couldn’t come at a better time. Kansas City boasts one of the league's top defenses, and having their star playmaker back will provide a significant boost to Pittsburgh's chances. The Steelers enter this game as slight home underdogs.
Steelers' George Pickens Trending Towards Playing Against The Chiefs On Christmas Day
If Pickens can clear his final medical hurdle and suit up, the Steelers’ offense will be far better equipped to keep pace with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ high-powered attack. Fans are hopeful that Pickens’ return will reignite the team’s offensive spark just in time for a critical late-season push.
While wide receiver Calvin Austin III has stepped up in Pickens' absence, the return of the Steelers' star playmaker will significantly ease the burden on the entire receiving corps, including tight end Pat Freiermuth. With defenses forced to shift their focus back to Pickens, opportunities for others to make plays will naturally open up. Without him on the field, opposing defenses have found it far too easy to neutralize Pittsburgh's passing attack.
