The Pittsburgh Steelers have countless historical figures throughout the history of the franchise, however none have been more prominent than former quarterback, Terry Bradshaw. Bradshaw is one of the most successful quarterbacks to ever play the game, as he won four Super Bowls during his time in Pittsburgh. He was one of the leaders of the best dynasties in NFL history, and he grew even more prominent as an analyst for Fox Sports. The former quarterback still works for Fox Sports, and he will be a part of the broadcast for Super Bowl LIX on Sunday.

Bradshaw is currently 76-years old, and he is credited as one of the founding fathers of the program Fox NFL Sunday, which still exists till this day. At his current age, it is understandable that the former quarterback should be considering retirement. He has seemed off at times on broadcasts, and fans have been worried for his health on multiple occasions in recent years.

Bradshaw and the rest of the Fox Sports team were made available for media availability throughout the week of preparation for Super Bowl LIX, and he was asked about his future, and a possible retirement.

"It's funny you should ask that because I told my wife not too long ago, I got two years left at Fox, I'm 76," Bradshaw said. "It's a young man's game, I get that. Everybody wants the new. If we can get to the next Super Bowl, I'll be 80. I think that's time."

Bradshaw stated he currently has two more years left on his contract with Fox, but he wants to get to the next Super Bowl that Fox is assigned. This would require Bradshaw signing one more deal with the network, and it should be assumed that the network would entertain this considering how loyal he has been to Fox.

The Super Bowl gets rotated around to all of the major networks, so it is a four-year cycle. The next one Fox is assigned is Super Bowl LXII in Atlanta, which would take place at the end of the 2027 season. After that broadcast is complete is when Bradshaw would like to officially retire.

Hopefully by the 2027 season, the Steelers are able to be slightly more competitive. This way, the organization's former quarterback has the chance to be a part of a Super Bowl victory for Pittsburgh. The former quarterback's retirement has been speculated for years on end at this point, but now there is a clear finish line for Bradshaw. He has always been in the public eye, whether that be as a player, actor, or analyst. He also even pursued a music career after he retired from the game of football.

It will be odd to eventually see Fox NFL Sunday on the television without Bradshaw behind the desk, but he has given his entire life to football. Being a part of the game until the age of 80 is impressive, no matter what capacity it is in.

Steelers' Terry Bradshaw Has Always Been Open About The Current Pittsburgh Teams

Bradshaw has had a platform to discuss his thoughts on the current state of the Steelers for years on end, and he has always been openly honest about his former team. He has been critical of Head Coach Mike Tomlin at times, and he has also criticized certain roster moves made by the team. He was a fan of Kenny Pickett, but he was not a fan of the trade that sent the young quarterback to the Philadelphia Eagles. This honest voice will be missed by the Pittsburgh fan base, as the national media never seems to get critical of Tomlin despite the consistent shortcomings as a head coach.
