Either you are a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the NFL, or you just want to earn some money for betting. Or maybe both - and that's cool! In today’s article, I’m going to tell you the top football betting methods I discovered for myself during my long journey as a football bettor and tips that will help you not only to bet but to win! Ready? Then let's go.

#1. Money Line: Simplicity That Brings Money
Let's start with the simplest: Money Line. In this case, you simply bet on who will win the match. No points; just select a team, and that’s it.
Some tips to get the most out of Money Line include:
Back underdogs with high odds: A home underdog or an injured key player to the favorite will increase the chances of an upset (unexpected victory). You have odds of 5/1 to hit the jackpot;
Look for "bookmaker traps": From time to time, they pull a chance trick by lowering the odds for favorites to entice the public. Look at the stats, and don’t go for the easy trap;
If you are taking several favorites with low odds, say 1.4 or 1.5, then combine them into parlays – you will win more.
In this business, the main thing is not to bet at random, but to dig deeper: team form, injuries, weather. This is the best way to bet on football - think, don't hope.
#2. Points Spread: On the Edge of Play
Moving on to Points Spread is a bit more advanced but also a little more interesting. You bet not only on the win but on the margin by which a team will win or lose here. This type of online sports betting is perfect if the match appears to be one-sided but you wish to spice things up.
This is how I normally tackle the Spread:
NFL key numbers: 3, 7, or 10 points are common because of touchdowns and field goals. It can be decisive if the line is close to these numbers (for example, -6.5 or +3.5);
Take home-field advantage; teams play better at home - crowd, a familiar field, less fatigue from travel. It can make a few points in their favor;
If the favorite's key defender is out, then the chances of the favorite "covering" the spread go down.
I took the Eagles at +6.5 against a strong team recently because their defense this season is just rock solid. Statistics are your best friend.
#3. Game Totals: Betting on the Show
If you don't want to guess who will win, try game totals. Here, you bet on the total number of points in the match - whether it will be over or under the given line.
Here are my tips:
Check the weather: Rain or snow? Points go down; take the Under. Is it the Heat and a closed stadium? Expect a show and bet the Over;
Analyze the defense: If teams with top defenses (like the Ravens or Eagles) are playing, there will be fewer points. But if the offense is powerful (Chiefs, Bills), expect a scoring frenzy.
That's how I took the under 45.5 in a match where both teams lost key offensive players, plus it was snowing. The result: 38 points and my win.
#4. Player Props: For Those Who Love Details
Now, about Player Props: this is when you bet on specific players. For example, will Patrick Mahomes pass for more than 250 yards, or will a certain receiver score a touchdown? This is for those who are ready to delve into the details and love following the stars.
My table for analyzing Player Props looks something like this:

As you can see, I look at statistics, opponents, and form. For example, if the defense is weak against running backs, take Anytime Touchdown on a top running back.
#5. Acca Tips: Bet More and Win More
Acca is when you combine multiple bets into one - for example, the victory of three teams or a spread with a total. The risk is higher, but the payout is juicier.
My approach to Acca:
Take 3-4 events: More is already a lottery; less is not as profitable;
Mixed markets: Victory + Under + a player's touchdown = variety and a chance for success.
That's how I combined three favorites with odds of 1.5-1.8, and all came through. I bet through TAB. The main thing is not to be greedy and to check each bet. If you want to learn more, study these eight best football betting strategies to maximize your winnings.
