The Pittsburgh Steelers were bound to make a trade at some point during the 2023 NFL Draft in order to gain some extra capital. That has finally happened towards the end of the third round and the Carolina Panthers selected linebacker from the University of Oregon, D.J. Johnson with the Steelers' original 80th overall pick.

Pittsburgh has already has a very productive draft and now the organization adds a pick at the end of the fourth round in order to make up for giving the New England Patriots the 120th overall pick on Thursday. The Steelers were able to draft offensive lineman, Broderick Jones due to a trade-up.
