In case you missed it, Pittsburgh Steelers left guard Kevin Dotson had a lukewarm take regarding the left tackle position. Dotson appeared on our Steeler Nation's Three Point Stance, and he stated that he doesn't think Broderick Jones will play in Year 1. Given that he was just selected 14th overall, everyone seems to think Jones will start at left tackle this season, at least at some point.

The Steelers seemingly found their cornerstone, franchise offensive tackle in the form of Broderick Jones out of Georgia.

Now, Dotson didn't seem to mean it as a shot at Jones, but more so a vote of confidence for Dan Moore Jr. Moore has started 34 games in the first two seasons of his NFL career. With Jones now in the fold, Moore began taking snaps at right tackle at OTAs on Thursday. Dotson and Moore have shared the field for the past two years, so it seems he was just backing his longtime teammate.

Dotson is going through a similar situation to Jones, as he is set to lose his starting left guard spot to free agent signing Isaac Seumalo. Seumalo brings a level of toughness to the field, as he's started 60 career games. Additionally, he brings a ton of veteran leadership, something the team could always use more of. Just a day after Dotson's comments, whether intentional or not, Seumalo discussed how Jones' key traits that him attractive at the NFL level.

"Broderick has got all of the tools and athleticism in the world. But obviously, offensive line is one of those things that takes time and experience. There are very rare guys that can come in and play right away. I think Broderick possesses those tools. Being able to know when to use each tool is the hard part of offensive line. He's definitely an aggressive guy. He's got all the tools. I'm excited to see him grow," Seumalo said.

After starting for a few seasons, suddenly Steelers offensive linemen Dan Moore Jr. and Kevin Dotson are both in danger of losing their starting jobs.

Jones started less than 20 games in his collegiate career at the University of Georgia. With such limited experience, it's a testament to his talent and overall ceiling that he went 14th overall in the NFL Draft. His raw traits are part of why he isn't a lock to start though, as he could possibly use some time to develop. Now, the rookie will have to fight for the starting spot.

That's respect to Moore, who again, is a proven starter in this league. Like Jaylen Warren and Kenny Pickett, Moore has shown up to OTAs looking like a different version of himself. He put on some weight, specifically muscle, this offseason. He's had his fair share of struggles at times in the NFL, but Moore has also been able to shut down the likes of Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett.

Regardless, the left tackle spot will be a position to watch all the way up until Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers. If you didn't see what Dotson said in reference to the left tackle job on the Three Point Stance podcast, well you're missing out.

Steelers left guard Kevin Dotson has acknowledged that he will lose his left guard job to free agent signing Isaac Seumalo.

"I think this year, most likely, [Jones] won't play. It just don't make sense to me. I'm just thinking they just thinking about the future. If he play this year, he is going to be at tackle," Dotson said.

For fans, it's been a fun, action-filled offseason. Now, expectations are much higher for 2023, especially with Pickett entering his second season. What are your thoughts on the comments from Dotson on Jones? Do you think Jones will start right away or will Moore win the job? Share your thoughts in the comment section below, yinz!
