The Pittsburgh Steelers have been worried about their offense for years now, but the unit seems to be doing just fine with Russell Wilson at quarterback. Pittsburgh put up 44 points in a victory over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, and the offense seemed to be extremely explosive as Wilson threw for over 400 yards and also tacked on three touchdowns. The unit looked good, but trade deadline acquisition Mike Williams still isn't being used as much as fans would like to see.

Mike Williams scores his first touchdown with the Steelers while playing the Washington Commanders.
The Steelers acquired Williams from the New York Jets at the trade deadline for a fifth-round pick, and Williams immediately made a big play for the Steelers. He caught the game-winning touchdown in Week 10 while playing the Washington Commanders, and it seemed like he would be great for Pittsburgh for the rest of the season. The only issue is, that has been Williams' only target through his first four games with the Steelers. He had a message for the fan base that he posted to his Instagram account following the win over the Bengals, and it is safe to say that the veteran isn't too worried about his involvement.

Williams seems to be happy with just winning games, and he doesn't care much about his involvement within the offense. Williams spent the majority of his career with the Los Angeles Chargers, and he had some good and bad years there. The Chargers never won the division with Williams on the team, so he now has a chance to do something in Pittsburgh that he has never done before.

Williams has yet to play more than 32 percent of the snaps in a game for the Steelers. In his first game against Washington, the receiver only played nine snaps, which was understandable considering he arrived in Pittsburgh that same week and needed some time to learn the playbook. In the three games since then, Williams has played 25 snaps, 19 snaps, and 17 snaps, respectively. The number continues to decline, and many fans are confused why the organization traded for him in the first place if the team didn't plan to use him.
The veteran wide receiver even played less snaps on Sunday than Ben Skowronek, who relied upon as a special teamer and occasionally enters the game as a blocking receiver. He did catch one pass for 23 yards in the contest while playing 23 offensive snaps. This is a bit baffling, but it should also be understood that while Skowronek and Williams play the same position, they couldn't be more different as players. Skowronek is treated as a do-it-all fullback/tight end/wide receiver of sorts, so him out-snapping Williams isn't anything to freak out about.
Williams may just need more time with the team to get comfortable, or maybe the coaching staff is waiting until later in the season to unleash the former first-round pick.

Steelers Will Use Mike Williams At Some Point
The plan all along was to bring Williams along slowly, which is what was said by the team shortly after the trade was made. Fans may have gotten their hopes up after seeing him catch the game-winning touchdown against Washington, but he was only put in that position because Calvin Austin III was out of the game with an injury. Fans may have expected the wide receiver to be making plays like that for the rest of the year, but it is still going to take some time to get him situated in Pittsburgh.
The Steelers have a tough schedule ahead of them, so it wouldn't be shocking to see Williams become more involved towards the end of the season as the playoffs approach.
